So of course, yesterday I watched Eurovision!
I have to say, like every other year, the results were absolutely tensing! I was literally jumping around in my seat.
I'm from the U.K and I felt that we had a great start, but as we went on, we were knocked down, but we did way better than 2010, where we came almost to last place! We beat it like up to 100 more points then last year! Bulgaria, you were our only friend, and I would have loved it if their country would have stayed in with their song 'Na Inat', I thought it was fantastic, and the 12 points were so generous!
If you want to here there song, you can find it here;
I personally found it excellent, and although they may have not made it to the final, or won, I think this song would make a great hit, so check it out!
Now onto Azerbaijan, if you did watch it, then you know that they won, and that Italy andSweden were close by! Now personally, I did not enjoy the song myself, but they gave it there all, and the other countries obviously thought it was fantastic, so next year, we're off to Azerbaijan and I'm hoping next year is even more fantastic!
Now, If you we're watch the U.K giving out our points, then you saw how we gave 12 points to a close country of ours, Ireland, and of course, why wouldn't we? They had Jedward! Their song 'Lipstick' was catchy, and I was shocked to found out that Sweden had written it aswell! and as the scores were given out and it was coming to Ireland's turn to give us a boost, as we were relying on then, they have us a 6. A 6. Now, of course we felt betrayed, and screwed over pretty much, but it was their choice, and I won't complain about it anymore.
I just hope that Blue and Jedward's career will be more enhanced then before, although, Jedward are already popular in their own sense, and Blue will create more and more songs, so good luck to them both!
If you had read my previous journal entry, you know that I was rooting for Finland, Spain, Estonia,Armenia, Belarus, Bulgaria, The Netherlands, Russia, Romania, Iceland, Ireland andIsrael, to win, and if I didn't mention some of these before, well, it counts now. But what I didn't know, was that most hadn't made it to the final, and I believe I actually should have watched the sem-finals. But I felt insulted when I learned that Moldova had got through, but Bulgaria didn't, and their song and artist were so much better! But that is my opinion, and I mean no offence to any Moldova fans out there.
Eurovision was of course fantastic, and I loved learning the storys behind each song, like how they found Mika Newton while looking for Mika, or the sad story from Iceland, which made me really feel for them! Moldova, you didn't have a great song, you had great hats, and Ukraine, not a great song either, but you reminded me of a rock band! I only wish that Estonia hadn't been last, and that title would have been given to Germany, because I believe they acted a little cockily choosing to use the same entrant, but other countries have done it, so I'm not going to rip you guys apart. While I was watching Eurovision, I was tweeting like CRAZY, I did a total from my 500th tweet mentioning thatEurovision had started, and wrote 74/75 tweets. It's actually better on Twitter, because that way, I can write what I'm thinking, and it should clog up the feed, as other's I'm following are popping up to! It was wonderful to have seen the entusistic and supportive tweets, and talking and learning what others felt and were thinking! Next year, prepare yourself! And don't worry, I shall be doing my review again next year!
I also enjoy the superstition around 2012, that we're all going to die, and I want to any of my readers or glancers, even scanners, that I don't believe in it, and I'm hoping next year no-one does anything stupid or regretable, and to those who believe it will happen, or something close to it, and it does, even in a small sense, I will write a journal entry with a sorry message included in it, but I'm not believing it will happen, so I don't think there will be a chance, but I don't know. Anyways, I mentioned the superstition in the first place because it doesn't matter about it, because Eurovision happens in May or so, and they've predicted the doomed month as December, so it's all good.
I want to diclose with people, that these are my OWN opinions, and that I believe people can think or believe what they want, so I'm not hating, it may sound like it, but I'm not, I'm just one small little voice writing out what I think.
Don't forget to check out my links either, to see what I wrote for Eurovision on my Twitter. I do follow back, but that only applies if you tweet daily, and you are legit, otherwise, you can follow, but I won't follow back. That is another thing I want to disclose with you.
I also have my sucky first part of my English exam tomorrow, and I am dreading it! I will write how it went in tomorrows journal entry, as well as anything else that happened!
I just hope everyone enjoyed Eurovision! and that I'm counting on all of you to check in next year, and WATCH IT!.
Alana.
